Director, Operations & Maintenance

TAQA North is currently searching for a Director, Operations & Maintenance. Reporting to the Vice President Operations, the Director, Operations and Maintenance is a key leadership role to ensure consistent delivery of safe, efficient and reliable operations for TAQA North. The Director, Operations and Maintenance will be accountable for field safety and environmental performance, operating costs and production volume delivery. The Operations and Maintenance organization of approximately 150 field and office based employees and contractors is essential for executing TAQA’s growth plans. This role will be based in Calgary with the expectation of regular field presence in TAQA’s operating locations across Alberta. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a core focus on safety, revenue, cost and risk management while moving the business forward with integrity and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an industry leading Operational team that is accountable, transparent and collaborative.
- Mindful safety leadership to advance our industry leading culture and processes.
- Operating cost budgeting, forecasting, cost control and reduction initiatives.
- Delivery of production volumes, reliability and planful maintenance.
- Key senior leader participating in Operating Committee discussions, strategies and decisions.
- Regulatory compliance and work to improve environmental performance on spills and GHG emissions.
- Advance strategic initiatives to evolve our operating model through technology, people and processes.
- Oversight and ensure consistency of operational resourcing, standards and talent management.
- Strategic management of vendors and third-party suppliers and contractors.
- Foster collaborative relationships across the organization with stakeholders to ensure asset plans are achievable and sustainable for the operation.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum +15 years extensive operational and leadership experience with a proven track record of delivering results in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
- Proven track record of safe and efficient management of field operations.
- Professional Engineer registered with APEGA is preferred.
- Excellent communicator, strong leadership, coaching and decision making.
- A self-starter with the ability to prioritize and act on numerous risks and opportunities.
- Strong business acumen and technical knowledge familiar with latest industry trends.
- Ability to provide three satisfactory references from past managers and pass a Criminal Background Check.
