Visual Communications Specialist

The Visual Communications Specialist supports the internal communications team by creating high-quality visual and written content that informs and engages employees while reinforcing the company’s brand and visual identity. This role is suited for an intermediate communications professional with a strong foundation in graphic design, visual storytelling and business writing, who can work independently, manage multiple priorities and contribute meaningfully to internal communications initiatives.
The successful candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment. Key responsibilities include designing employee-facing materials using Adobe Illustrator or comparable design software, and developing clear, engaging content for internal channels such as email and the intranet.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and produce a wide range of internal communications materials aligned with brand standards, including presentations, posters, digital signage, newsletters and other employee-facing assets.
- Plan and execute photography and video content to support internal communications, events and engagement activities.
- Organize and maintain company’s photo and video asset library to ensure it’s up to date and accessible.
- Write, edit and refine content for multiple internal communication channels to ensure clarity, consistency and engagement.
- Collaborate closely with internal communications team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment in messaging, tone and visual identity.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead assigned projects from concept through completion, presenting outcomes and demonstrating measurable impact.
- Support internal events and engagement initiatives by providing visual communications, content development and on-site support as needed.
Who you are:
- A hard working, proactive, collaborative professional who takes initiative and ownership of their work.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple projects independently.
- Adaptable and confident working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experienced in designing visually compelling materials and writing clear, engaging content for internal audiences.
- Proficient with Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office; experience in photography and/or videography is an asset, but not a requirement.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent experience gained through formal training and professional practice.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications, graphic design or a related role.
- Submission of writing and graphic design samples demonstrating skill level.
- Ability to provide three satisfactory professional references and successfully pass a criminal background check.
