The Contracts Specialist will collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the continuous improvement of TAQA North’s contracts management processes. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, developing business acumen, and a foundational understanding of contracts administration, with the opportunity to grow skills in contract review and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support contracting activities to ensure compliance with applicable company policies and procedures
  • Assist contract owners, Supply Chain, and Legal with the preparation, review, and negotiation of contracts, escalating risks and issues to senior team members as appropriate
  • Provide day-to-day support to the business in tracking contractual rights, obligations, and key milestones
  • Assist with identifying and managing contractual risks and compliance requirements
  • Maintain awareness of relevant legislative and regulatory changes with guidance from the Legal team
  • Apply and continuously build knowledge of contract management best practices
  • Support enhancements, optimization, and sustained use of TAQA North’s newly implemented contracts management system
  • Assist with communication, training materials, and change management related to contract processes
  • Maintain accurate and organized digital contract records throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Monitor contract expirations and renewal dates in collaboration with the Supply Chain team
  • Support contract terminations and close-out activities under guidance from senior team members
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Team to ensure documentation meets legal and procurement requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent business experience
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in contracts administration or contracts management
  • Exposure to post-award contract management is considered an asset
  • Experience in the oil and gas or energy industry is an asset but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with developing negotiation capabilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Comfortable adapting to new systems, processes, and business requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Power BI is an asset
  • Ability to provide three satisfactory professional references and successfully pass a criminal background check
