Corporate Planning and Economics Analyst

TAQA North is currently searching for a Corporate Planning and Economics Analyst. Reporting to the Supervisor, Planning & Performance, the Corporate Planning & Economics Analyst is responsible for economic modelling & analysis and for supporting key planning processes (forecasting, budgeting and portfolio analysis). You will champion standardized economic reporting of TAQA North’s Investment Memorandums (IM). You will support capital management by providing capital planning program reporting, stakeholder reporting and analysis on capital management, capital performance, trending and benchmarking. In addition to this, you will maintain and continuously improve the use of TAQA North’s economic and planning tools and processes.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support core planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, capital ranking, and long-range planning
- Ensure all economic analysis for IM and related evaluations is conducted consistently and in adherence with TAQA North standards (including royalties, operating costs, and capital assumptions)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support IM performance tracking and reporting
- Contribute to the development of KPIs and management reporting
- Prepare clear, impactful presentations for leadership team and stakeholders
- Enhance and continuously improve planning tools, processes, and reporting capabilities
- Support ad hoc analysis and strategic initiatives as required
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a financial discipline such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using financial planning and economic evaluation systems (PEEP, Val Nav, Power BI & related tools) preferred
- Experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning is an asset
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to obtain and coordinate data inputs for reporting purposes
- Ability to provide three satisfactory professional references and complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
