Senior Subsea Supervisor - MODU

TAQA is offering a new opportunity for an Senior Subsea Supervisor - MODU in the Wells Abandonment team, based offshore on a 3/3 rota.
This position is open to staff and contractors. Any internal contractor who applies and is successful will remain with their current contracting company.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Senior Subsea Supervisor for the Subsea P&A activities to support the MODU and LWIV campaigns (52 wells total with around 30 remaining to complete). The role will be a 3/3 rotational offshore supervisory role on the Noble Patriot. The offshore role will also be required to assist the onshore Subsea Team in support of the MODU P&A and intervention campaigns as required.
The job holder will be expected to work independently and will be involved in technically challenging projects, which require the application of technical expertise and experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Main offshore focal point for subsea service providers. Ensure own and vendor participation in reviewing POA's/work instructions for planned P&A activities.
- Responsible for daily operational procedures, reporting and protocol pertaining to SS wells team scope of work.
- Develops a high level of responsibility and ownership within the team and promotes continuous improvement.
- Works in support of the subsea team to ensure that all the required subsea P&A equipment (TAQA owned and rental) is maintained, inspected, prepared, interface checked and accepted in line with approved plans, timescales and operational contingencies.
- Works closely with the Subsea Engineers, Subsea Team Lead, Wells Superintendent, Well Engineers and other key team members to plan, develop and execute the MODU and LWIV P&A campaign, ensuring all activities are undertaken in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner and in strict compliance with Company standards and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Supervises offshore subsea operations, working closely with the key contract subsea personnel, rig contractor personnel and DSV. Participates in the communication, planning and decision-making processes to ensure programmes are delivered safely and effectively.
- Day to Day supervision onboard MODU of XT/WH, WOC’s, Riser, ROV, SSTT and Landing String vendors.
- Support offshore ASV's in updating lookaheads and DDRs.
- Attend all daily pre-tour meetings to communicate plan/procedures regarding subsea wells scope of work.
- Witness and sign off all pre deployment deck testing and operational testing subsea as required.
- Ensure all tooling is fit for purpose prior to running and all pre/post running checklists are signed off.
- Organises onboard MODU, pre-job meetings and risk assessment as required.
- Ensures an effective interface and communication process is established between the offshore team, other TAQA teams and external/3rd party vendors. This is to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives/work programmes, encourage open transfer of knowledge and information and to identify and record Lessons Learned, track and close out actions in an effective and timely manner.
- Manage all subsea rental tooling, equipment and spares requirements offshore and ensure equipment is loaded out and back loaded in line with operational need dates.
- In conjunction with the well engineers ensures all Well Handover documents throughout the operations are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- In conjunction with the well engineers ensure post-operations report and implement lessons learned into the end of well report.
- Works with the subsea team to ensure materials, services and equipment are available in line with well schedules and operations.
- Works with contractor/vendor companies to ensure that all relevant documentation is systematically recorded, auditable and traceable.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:
Essential
- Qualification in mechanical engineering or vocational training with extensive engineering / operations experience with major wellhead / tree supplier with proven track record.
- Relevant experience in wellhead/ tree engineering/ operations and site supervision.
- Offshore Survival Training Certificate, UK Medical and MIST
- Fully certified by a recognised Well Control Authority for drilling activities e.g. IWCF to Subsea Supervisor level.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Essential
- Demonstrated capacity of subsea team leadership and supervision.
- Previous experience of a similar role within operator
- Strong technical / operational knowledge in the Wells Subsea area gained from demonstrable extensive experience of Vertical and Horizontal Xmas Tree (XT) systems, associated tooling and Completion / Workover (C/WO) riser systems.
- Experience of supervising MODU and LWIV offshore subsea drilling, completion, intervention and abandonment operations.
- Experience of maintaining, inspecting, preparing, interface checking and accepting subsea equipment.
- Experience of working on a range of different tree configurations from different suppliers (remaining campaign includes OSS VHT, BH VXT, and BH HXT).
- Proven relationship-builder at all levels – internally and externally.
