TAQA North is seeking a Jr. Applications Analyst to join our Information Technology team in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing critical business applications, developing data-driven solutions, and enabling operational excellence across the organization. This position combines application support, data analytics, reporting, and process automation, requiring a proactive individual who can collaborate with stakeholders, troubleshoot technical issues, and leverage tools such as Power BI, and SQL to solve real-world Oil & Gas business challenges. The ideal candidate is analytical, customer-focused, and passionate about driving continuous improvement through technology and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and training for business applications including Maximo, SiteView, WellView, ProdView, Power BI, and other enterprise applications.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues and service requests.
- Monitor application performance and escalate complex issues to senior analysts or vendors.
- Active engagement in the development of data solutions to address real-life Oil & Gas business challenges.
- Develop and maintain Power BI solutions.
- Perform data validation and quality checks.
- Assist with SQL queries, data extraction, and data analysis activities.
- Support application enhancements, testing, and release activities.
- Support and maintain integrations between applications.
- Process automation (Power Automate / workflow solutions).
- User adoption and training.
- Documentation and knowledge management.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of relevant experience; internships and co‑op experience is considered an asset
- Prio Oil and Gas experience considered an asset
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Software/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field
- Experience writing/using SQL to query, validate, and troubleshoot data
- Experience with Power BI, or similar reporting tools, and data modeling would be considered an asset
- Experience with or exposure to Maximo, ProdView, SiteView, WellView would be considered asset
- Experience with Microsoft tools (Excel, Power Platform)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
- Self-starter and team-oriented
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to provide three satisfactory professional references and complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
