TAQA North is seeking a Jr. Applications Analyst to join our Information Technology team in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing critical business applications, developing data-driven solutions, and enabling operational excellence across the organization. This position combines application support, data analytics, reporting, and process automation, requiring a proactive individual who can collaborate with stakeholders, troubleshoot technical issues, and leverage tools such as Power BI, and SQL to solve real-world Oil & Gas business challenges. The ideal candidate is analytical, customer-focused, and passionate about driving continuous improvement through technology and data.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and training for business applications including Maximo, SiteView, WellView, ProdView, Power BI, and other enterprise applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues and service requests.
• Monitor application performance and escalate complex issues to senior analysts or vendors.
• Active engagement in the development of data solutions to address real-life Oil & Gas business challenges.
• Develop and maintain Power BI solutions.
• Perform data validation and quality checks.
• Assist with SQL queries, data extraction, and data analysis activities.
• Support application enhancements, testing, and release activities.
• Support and maintain integrations between applications.
• Process automation (Power Automate / workflow solutions).
• User adoption and training.
• Documentation and knowledge management.

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of relevant experience; internships and co‑op experience is considered an asset
• Prio Oil and Gas experience considered an asset
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Software/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field
• Experience writing/using SQL to query, validate, and troubleshoot data
• Experience with Power BI, or similar reporting tools, and data modeling would be considered an asset
• Experience with or exposure to Maximo, ProdView, SiteView, WellView would be considered asset
• Experience with Microsoft tools (Excel, Power Platform)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
• Self-starter and team-oriented
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Ability to provide three satisfactory professional references and complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
