Job Title:  Lead Field Operator (employee) – Brant Farrow - RQ 22–83

Location: Nearby Mossleigh, AB (Brant Farrow Field)

The Successful candidate must live within Mossleigh, Okotoks, Strathmore, High River, or Vulcan areas

TAQA North currently has an opportunity for a Lead Field Operator in the Brant Farrow Field. Reporting to the Foreman, the Lead Field Operator will be familiar with all aspects of the operations and operating procedures for his areas. The position assists the Foreman with daily operations and provides on-site direction and training of more junior operators. Acts as area Lead Operator of Field Equipment and supervises and coordinates all work and services performed by Operators for the management and operation of the Field Equipment.

As a part of this challenging role you will specifically be responsible for:

  • Support the foreman leading operations team with operation and optimization of pumping oil wells, flowing and plunger lift gas wells, sweet refrigeration gas plant, treating oil battery, gas compression, pipeline maintenance and fluid hauling
  • Coordinating outside services and maintenance staff, providing work scope and direction
  • Ensure all services and materials are necessary, economically justified and are purchased from the most cost effective supplier.  Reduce the cost of travel by planning and coordination
  • All aspects of safety and regulatory compliance with your designated work area
  • Performing Control of Work responsibilities such as, Job Hazard Assessments, Safe Work Permits, Job Task Observations, and equipment lock out tag out
  • Participate in Facility design, HAZOP, construction and start up
  • Oversee production field data capture and measurement
  • Facility Turnaround planning and execution
  • Field optimization, cost control & project oversight 
  • Using personal protective equipment required to meet all current regulatory standards and the Corporation’s Health and Safety policies
  • Be available for call outs, and operations shift coverage 
  • Develop site specific start up, shutdown and operating procedures

Oversee the timely notification of the following:

  • Breakdowns or defects in the Field Equipment requiring replacement or repair
  • Unsafe conditions or any security issues
  • Accidents and incidents affecting health or safety that may result in personal injury
  • Incidents resulting in impairment of the environment
  • Incidents of losses to the Field Equipment
  • Ensure the necessity for the protection of life, health, property, and the environment in the event of fire, flood, storm, explosion, serious accident or any emergency

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • 10 + years direct oil and gas operating experience
  • Refrigeration gas plant experience
  • Compressor operations experience
  • Oil battery and rod lift experience 
  • Possess a valid vehicle operating license
  • Maximo, Prodview & Avocet Field Data Capture experience
  • Minimum Grade 12 High School with preference will be given to candidates with Journeyman Trades, Power Engineering or Field/Gas Plant Operator certifications
