We are searching for an eager Supply Chain Summer Student.  You will work closely with the Supply Chain team to gather and analyze data while supporting the end-to-end sourcing and contracting processes. You will gain valuable experience by participating in a competitive sourcing event that will have a direct impact on TAQA North’s business. Your time with TAQA North will provide a deeper understanding of sourcing and contracting principles, governance requirements, and the processes utilized within a Supply Chain department.

This is a summer student position based out of Calgary, working from our office 5 days per week. This position is full-time from May to August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Supply Chain Supervisors with supplier sourcing and contracting activities, including market research, supplier evaluations, and preparation of procurement and contracting documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to source goods and services, monitor supplier performance, maintain positive supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the administration of purchase orders, contracts, work orders, amendments, and renewals in partnership with the Contracts team.
  • Support the Supply Chain Analyst with supplier spend analytics, category trend identification, and supplier performance reporting to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain and update the supply chain data repository to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of critical information.
  • Participate in process improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and strengthening sustainability practices.

  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and ownership of work, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Prior internship, co-op, volunteer, customer service, or relevant work experience is considered an asset
  • Experience working on academic, extracurricular, or community projects demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and initiative is considered an asset

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business, or a related degree program
  • Must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term
  • Must attach your most recent unofficial or official transcript with your application to be considered
  • Available to work full-time in our Calgary office for the duration of the 4-month work term
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and pass a criminal background check
