TAQA have a vacancy for the position of Environmental Coordinator based onshore in Brimmond House, Prime Four, Kingswells. 

This position is open to both staff and contractors. For current TAQA staff employees, this position will be offered as a 12-month secondment. If applying via an agency, this will be a contract position, and any internal contractor who applies and is successful will remain with their current contracting company.

Role Duration - 12-month contract.

Compressed Working Week (CWW) 

TAQA offers onshore employees and contractors a Compressed Working Week (CWW) in order to help achieve a healthy work-life balance.  The CWW is an arrangement where employees and contractors work a standard two-week work period (10 days) over a compressed period of 9 working days i.e., employees contracted to work 37.5 hours per week will work 75 hours over 9 days (instead of 10 days). The 10th day in the second week of the CWW period is known as 'Flex Friday', a non-working day.

Agile Working

All employees and contractors at TAQA have the opportunity to participate in Agile Working.  Agile Working means individuals can find an optimum balance between home/office working and flexibility on when and where contracted hours are worked. The aim is to deliver business results, whilst supporting a work/life balance and promoting a positive culture that supports engagement and retention.   Individuals can establish their own working pattern with their line manager to accommodate business requirements and personal preferences.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To support the Environmental Team, via the application of processes and practices and knowledge sharing, in a technical role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Environmental Management System (EMS):

  • Provides support to the Safety and Environmental Manager and Environmental Team in ensuring the effective delivery and continual improvement of the Company’s ISO14001 certified EMS.
  • Monitors current and emerging regulatory and TAQA requirements for impact on the EMS.
  • Maintains an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness of environmental legislation, TAQA HSSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Performs periodic reviews and updates of key EMS documentation/registers.
  • Co-ordinates offshore compliance audits and reviews and monitors delivery of plans.
  • Responsible for the management of environmental audit reports and actions.
  • Facilitates the annual EMS management review process.
  • Facilitates the annual Political, Economic, Societal, Technological, Legal and Environmental (PESTLE) business review process for ISO14001.
  • Monitors progress with annual environmental objectives and targets.
  • Provides input to environmental incident investigation quality reviews, where appropriate.
  • Supports HSSEQ teams with the delivery of relevant campaigns.
  • Facilitates TAQA Group environmental reporting requirements and delivery of initiatives.
  • Facilitates and promotes the Environmental Representative role and engagement opportunities.
  • Actively identifies areas for continual improvement and streamlining of processes.

Environmental Regulatory Compliance:

  • Supports the regulatory permit application and variation process where required.
  • Analyses data, monitoring compliance with permit conditions e.g. Oil Pollution Prevention and Control (OPPC), Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), Offshore Combustion Installations Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC), consent to locate, chemical permits etc. as required.
  • Prepares and submits regulatory environmental reports as required e.g. EEMS reporting.
  • Supports the review and progress with project related Permits Licences, Authorisations, Notifications and Consents (PLANC) registers.
  • Monitors progress with Emission Reduction Action Plan (ERAP), Methane Action Plan (MAP) and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) actions and supports the annual review process.
  • Facilitates the data analysis and preparation of the annual environmental statement for Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED).
  • Provides planning support for offshore OPRED inspections and other regulatory visits e.g. ETS, PPC stack sampling.
  • Facilitates the management of environmental regulatory letters and action completion.
  • Prepares platform specific environmental performance reports.
  • Reviews and facilitates updates to Oil Pollution Emergency Plans (OPEPS).
  • Supports routine regulatory invoicing and budget forecasting requirements.
  • Maintains the environmental permit application tracking workbooks.
  • Maintains environmental incident tracking sheets.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

  • Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or similar environmental related qualification/membership

and/or

  • Degree qualified in an Environmental/Chemistry/Biology subject area
  • Preferred- BOSIET/MIST

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Environmental-related experience in the oil and gas or similar industry
  • Considerable experience in an administration role within a technical environment
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team and on own initiative
  • Basic knowledge & understanding of environmental management systems
  • Knowledge of offshore UKCS environmental legislative requirements e.g. ETS, PPC, F-Gas, OPPC etc.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting databases
  • Knowledge of accident/incident investigation and reporting systems e.g. Maximo
