We are searching for an EI & C Engineer. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, you will oversee, design, and develop electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for capital and maintenance projects within Taqa North.
Your key responsibilities:
- Provide practical support and direction for project teams – ensuring projects are delivered, optimized and maintained as required and in compliance with the company standards and needs and in a safe manner
- Provide project management on EI&C projects.
- Provide discipline support on the wellsite and pipeline program and on major infrastructure projects.
- Provide support and technical oversight into maintenance projects.
- Execute MOC’s as required.
- Perform conceptual through detailed engineering, including coordination with internal design/drafting functions and third-party support firms
- Work closely with suppliers, contractors, vendors and regulatory bodies to deliver on targets and goals
- Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and budgets for projects as assigned
- Develop, design, maintain, and commission a variety of control systems
- Ensure all facility activities are enforced within government regulations, TAQA North codes and standards, regulations, and HSSE commitments.
- Prepare bid documents and coordinate with Procurement Department from the bidder and vendor invitation through the selection
- Oversee and execute start-up activities of the projects as defined in the project plan
- Acts as the owner of the EQMP.
- Maintain, develop and update associated EI&C standards and practices.
- Work with E/I Regulatory bodies which includes the Utilities/Regulatory commission application.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for assigned projects
- Provide AFE management and cost reporting.
- Work closely with the PMT’s & operations team on a day-to-day activity.
- Provide mentorship to other E & I technicians within the company.
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year university or college is required
- At least 8+ years’ experience in oil and gas industry
- P.Eng. & eligible to register with APEGA.
- Strong technical knowledge, electrical, instrumentation and controls.
- Strong knowledge of the federal and provincial EI&C regulations and codes
- Project management experience.
- Understanding and experience in the MOC process.
- Understanding of the EQMP process and program.
- Understanding of B-149.3 Bruner Management
- Understanding of CEC and TAQA Accreditation Program
- Understanding of Z462 Electrical Safety
- Prior leadership experience is an asset.
- Strong skill in excel, word, power point.
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction
- Flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies
- Strong working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) hardware and software. Experience with Allen Bradley and Emerson PLCs preferred
- Working knowledge of associated graphical user interfaces/operator control panels (HMI). Experience with Wonderware preferred
- Working knowledge and experience with electrical instrumentation
- Must have a working knowledge of P&IDs, electric schematics, technical manuals, and data
