Senior Corporate Communications Advisor

TAQA is offering a new opportunity for an Senior Corporate Communications Advisor in the Corporate Communications Department, based onshore in the Aberdeen office.
This position is open to both staff and contractors. If applying via an agency, this will be a contract position, and any internal contractor who applies and is successful will remain with their current contracting company.

TAQA offers onshore employees and contractors a Compressed Working Week (CWW) The CWW is an arrangement where employees and contractors work a standard two-week work period (10 days) over a compressed period of 9 working days i.e. employees contracted to work 37.5 hours per week will work 75 hours over 9 days (instead of 10 days). The 10th day in the second week of the CWW period is known as 'Flex Friday', a non-working day.
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Leads on a variety of corporate communication campaigns and works closely with the corporate communications manager to deliver the internal and external communication strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides advice and support on communication issues as appropriate and in line with corporate and UK strategy and messaging
- Responsible for developing strategies for internal communications, including planning and implementation for a variety of channels, projects and initiatives
- Ensures fast and consistent deployment of communication campaigns across the business and tracks and measures success
- Responsible for the in-house TAQA Today email newsletter – managing the editorial content, coordinating drafts, writing articles, laying out the newsletter and coordinating distribution
- Chairs the TAQA UK CSR Committee and manages the annual CSR programme and quarterly community fund
- Participates in emergency response planning, training and any related media response
- Prepares speeches, presentations and written articles for the leadership team
- Continually develops professional expertise through professional development and effective networking to maintain an awareness and knowledge of contemporary corporate communication issues
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

- Relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

- Previous experience within a communications environment, with specific experience and knowledge of corporate communication tools and strategy
- Proven ability to communicate and influence via written media and through presentation to a variety of audiences
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across a diverse range of individuals and organisations
- Up to date knowledge of communications best practice
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent English language skills and copywriting skills
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of internal communications
- IT literate: Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Viva Engage) to intermediate level. Experience of graphic design packages advantageous
- Must reside close to Aberdeen to provide effective emergency response support and attend evening and weekend activities
- Highly accurate with good attention to detail
- Self-motivated and proactive forward planner with ability to drive a project from conception to completion
- Creative thinker with the ability to introduce new concepts and ideas
