Field Operations Summer Student (Summer 2027 Work Term)

We are searching for an eager Field Operations Summer Student. You will be part of the Central Operations team and will support the Production Technologists and 3 foremen in the area. This hands-on role will provide exposure to day-to-day field operations, production optimization activities, and regulatory processes. You will assist with well reviews, operational inspections, data management, and field activities while gaining practical experience supporting the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas assets. Working alongside experienced operations professionals, you will develop valuable technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced and safety-focused environment.
This is a summer student position based out of Rocky Mountain House, working from our field office 5 days per week. This position is full-time from May to August 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update plunger lift database & evaluate inspection frequency (specifically for the downhole assemblies).
- Perform well reviews, follow up on recommendations through to completion (including shadowing well servicing operations).
- Assist the Production Technologists with gathering and submitting regulatory data.
- Complete basic CMDS and hands-on training to ensure the individual can safely assist or execute routine operational tasks as required;
- checking wells,
- pigging,
- plunger lift inspections,
- log the compressor stations/gas plants
- operational assistance as required.

- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and ownership of work, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Prior internship, co-op, volunteer, customer service, or relevant work experience is considered an asset
- Experience working on academic, extracurricular, or community projects demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and initiative is considered an asset
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post secondary educational degree program, preferably in Engineering, Power Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related program
- Must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term
- Must attach your most recent unofficial or official transcript with your application to be considered
- Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment screening.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license (or equivalent) required, along with a clean driver's abstract.
- Available to work full-time in our Calgary office for the duration of the 4-month work term
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and pass a criminal background check
